Terms of Service

Last updated: August 20, 2025

Welcome to Horaxtra. These are our rules. We've written them in plain English because legal jargon helps no one.

By using our platform, you agree to these terms. If something doesn't make sense, email us at hola@horaxtra.com and we'll explain it.

How Horaxtra Works

We're not a traditional booking platform. Here's what we actually do:

  • You commit to pay for an activity if enough other families join
  • We collect your email and phone number to track your commitment
  • You provide payment details to Stripe so we can charge you if the session confirms
  • We collect commitments until the educator's minimum is reached
  • If minimum reached: We confirm the session and process charges through Stripe
  • If not enough families: Nothing happens, no one gets charged
  • We hand over your contact details to the educator
  • You work directly with the educator from there

We're the matchmaker. Once we've made the introduction, our job is mostly done.

Your Commitment

When you click "commit" to an activity:

  • You're promising to pay if enough families join
  • Your card won't be charged until the session is confirmed
  • You can change your mind until the enrollment deadline
  • After the deadline: You're committed for the full term

If Not Enough Families Join

  • No one gets charged
  • The session doesn't happen
  • No awkward cancellations
  • You can try again for the next session

If the Session Gets Confirmed

  • We charge your card through Stripe
  • We give your contact details to the educator
  • The educator reaches out to arrange everything
  • You're committed for the full activity term

Payments

  • All payments go through Stripe (not us)
  • You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout
  • We never see your card details
  • Refunds are processed back through Stripe when applicable

Cancellations and Refunds

Before Session Confirmation

You can cancel anytime before the enrollment deadline. Just email us at hola@horaxtra.com and we'll remove your commitment for that activity. No charge, no questions asked.

After Session Confirmation

This is where it gets real. You've committed, the educator has planned, other families are counting on you.

If you must leave mid-term:

  • Help find a replacement family, OR
  • Pay through the term

Why? Your educator needs stable income, just like school teachers. Empty spots halfway through hurt everyone.

Life happens - we get it. Email us at hola@horaxtra.com if you're in a tough situation. We'll try to help find solutions.

Working with Educators

Important: Educators are independent service providers, not our employees.

  • We handle: Getting you connected
  • They handle: Everything else - safety, session content, communication, their own insurance

When problems arise: Work it out directly with the educator. If that doesn't work, we'll try to help mediate.

Our Educator Standards

We don't just onboard anyone who can teach an activity. We look for educators who:

  • Have proven teaching experience with children
  • Build confidence in kids, not just teach skills
  • Create experiences your children will talk about all year
  • Make your child believe they can do anything

Our process: We research their background online and meet them in person to ensure their teaching style aligns with what families deserve - educators who genuinely care about your child's growth and confidence.

Age Requirements

  • You must be 18+ to use Horaxtra
  • You're booking activities for your children (any age)
  • You're responsible for making sure activities are appropriate for your child

What You Can and Can't Do

You can:

  • Commit to activities for your children
  • Contact us with questions or problems
  • Change your mind before enrollment deadlines

You can't:

  • Book activities you don't intend to follow through on
  • Share your login details (when we add accounts later)
  • Use the platform for anything other than booking activities
  • Be abusive to educators or other families

Our Content and Trademarks

The Horaxtra name, logo, and website design belong to us. The activity descriptions and photos belong to the educators who provided them.

Activity videos: The videos featuring educators that you see on our platform have been created by Horaxtra and belong to us. These help you get a feel for the educator's style and what the activity is really like.

Don't copy our stuff or pretend to be us. We're pretty easy to recognize anyway.

Feedback and Suggestions

If you give us ideas about how to improve Horaxtra, we might use them. We won't pay you for suggestions, but we'll definitely appreciate them.

Future Features

As our community of educators and families grows, we might add new features like user accounts, reviews, advanced search, or other tools to make finding great activities even easier.

Any new features will be designed with the same philosophy: keep it simple, respect your privacy, and help families find amazing experiences for their kids.

Liability and Disclaimers

The legal bit (but in plain English):

  • Activities happen between you and educators - we're just the introduction service
  • We can't guarantee that educators will be perfect or that activities will run smoothly
  • Maximum we'd ever owe you: What you actually paid us (probably not much)
  • We're not responsible for injuries, disagreements, or problems that happen during activities

Your responsibility: Check that activities are suitable for your child, that educators are qualified, and that you're comfortable with the arrangements.

When Things Go Wrong

  • First: Try to work it out directly with the educator
  • Second: Email us at hola@horaxtra.com and we'll try to help

We take problems seriously and will do our best to mediate fairly. Most issues get resolved with a simple conversation. We're parents too - we understand when things don't go as planned.

Third: If we can't sort it out, we'll handle disputes under Spanish law (we're based in Barcelona)

Termination

You can stop using Horaxtra anytime. Just honor any existing commitments.

We can ban you if:

  • You repeatedly don't honor commitments
  • You're abusive to educators or other users
  • You break these terms in other ways

We'll try to warn you first unless you're being really awful.

Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms as we add features or learn from experience.

  • For major changes: We'll email everyone at least 30 days in advance
  • For minor clarifications: We'll just update this page

Keep using Horaxtra = you agree to the new terms. Don't like them = stop using the platform.

Data and Privacy

This covers how the platform works. For how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Short version: We collect minimal data and hand your contact details to educators when you join their activities.
