Yulia here 👋
"Novelist, comedy writer, and the kind of adult who still believes a haunted sandwich can be a great protagonist. I teach writing because kids’ imaginations are funnier, wilder, and braver than most grown-up fiction, and I want to help them shape those ideas into stories they’re proud of."
What we do
We meet Wednesdays 6-7pm near Plaça Universitat (Raval) or your home*.
We always start with something silly: a story prompt, a “what if,” or a weird real-life headline. Sometimes we write on the floor. Sometimes we write about chocolate-obsessed pandas. Sometimes we get distracted and talk about why love poems are embarrassing. It’s all part of the process.
Not every kid wants to read their work out loud (especially at first). That’s fine. I encourage it, but no one gets forced. By the end of the term, we’ll polish one story and present it at our tiny Book Day event on 25th March.
Parent perspective
"My daughter wrote a 12-page story about a haunted burrito. She never wrote at school before. Now she won’t stop. I blame Yulia." - Anna, Katie's mum
